Hi all,
A few items to keep track of with Camp Rodney coming up next month:
- EVERYONE who attends camp, scout or adult, needs a Medical A/B/C form filled out, including a doctor's signature. You can use last year's form if it was dated 6/1/2022 or later, otherwise you will need a new form. If you don't yet have your form or an appointment scheduled, please get that scheduled right now. The form is available here: https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/HealthSafety/pdf/680-001_ABC.pdf
- Everyone should have their final merit badge selections now. They have just published the official list of course descriptions and prerequisites. All prerequisites for your badges should be done before attending camp, and please bring whatever documentation they request down to camp, or you may not complete the badge at camp. Please review this list now and write down any you need to prepare, as some of them may take time to accomplish. I've attached a copy, or you can go to https://scoutingevent.com/081-RSRSummer and click on the Class Catalog link
- Scouts are encouraged to bring a bike to Rodney. Everyone should have a helmet, and a light on the front end and the back of the bike. Please take a minute to check that your bike is in good working order, that the lights are working, and that you helmet still fits. You will need to sign a bike agreement, and make sure to bring it to camp.
- If you have any food restrictions or allergies, you should notify the camp in advance. Last year they published a menu for the week with the allergens in each meal, hopefully they do that this year. Personally I think Rodney has done great with food allergies last year, and I don't think we've had any problems when scouts were being careful and thorough. If you do have an allergy or restriction, please fill out this form soon http://www.delmarvacouncil.org/document/rsr-special-dietary-needs-form/138015 and send it to them at rsrfoodservice@dmvc.org and and rsrfoodservice@gmail.com. I recommend any scout with allergies print it out and carry it with their epipen at all times so they can use it as a constant reference.
- What to bring to camp: http://app.doubleknot.com/openrosters/showpage.aspx?3838363537307L35323938373530, and we'll have more information to follow.
